Your Why Is Your POWER

Your WHY Is Your Power…

Amp it up and use it to pull you through the CHALLENGES that lay ahead…

If I could give you one thing it’d be clarity.

Total clarity regarding ‘why’ your building an online business, your 1st goal, and strategy to attain it…

Not the “make $10,000 a month” answer I always gave when pushed for this info. This lack of understanding left me vulnerable to every shiny object that crossed my path.

It marked my lowest point.

And I wouldn’t want you to go through the same.

This is the most IMPORTANT yet least understood of all the steps…

It goes deep and it gets weird…

What Is My WHY?

It’s your power and inspiration to pull you through the many challenges you’re going to face.

It’s your bigger than ‘you’ purpose, your beliefs, your ethos an ‘ideal’ behind what your doing…

It’s what you stand for and stand against.

It’s your guiding star from which all else will flow.

Here’s a great Video from Simon Sinek that explains all…

Interesting right?

So what you do and how you do it need to reflect your beliefs…

As affiliates I suggest  that means promote products we believe in.

In a way that fits within our beliefs and values…

For me I love honesty, transparency, I like to watch people take on challenges, hate hype, hate pressure.

Explains why I fundamentally disagree with how many companies conduct business online.

Hype. False scarcity. Upsell after upsell…

Moving on, after you’ve decided WHY you want to do whatever it is within Affiliate Marketing your journey is about to begin in earnest.

Your going to face your own challenges…

In starting your own hero’s journey you’ll face many challenges, certainly the hardest to defeat will be the internal challenges…

The following video is Taken from Vick Strizheus Four Percent Challenge (original version) and will help you to understand why most people fail to breakthrough and what you have to do about it.

Understanding this for me was game changing…

So armed with the awareness, knowledge and strategy for defeating any self limiting beliefs we now want to channel our power into the right business vehicle for our success..

IF You Marry Your Why With A Clear Strategy You’re Really In Business…

I spent some time writing down with a pencil and paper all the things I love and hated…

I considered films, books, characters, sporting heros, personality traits, friends, family, business influencers, gurus, celebs I like and asked myself what I liked about them, what made me trust them, what character traits did I most admire…

and what didn’t I like?

What is it about politicians that I don’t like, they’re supposed to represent us – right?

If I could be a hero which one(s) and why?

What do I pay money to do, watch, read?

What do I happily do with my spare time?

What experiences from my past have made me feel, loved, appreciated, recognised, secure, powerful, special, fulfilled.

Here’s another exercise I love. I do this every day without exception.

Called Morning Pages it’s miraculous for clarifying thinking and developing your ideas. Andre Chaperon (world class copywriter) gave me this exercise.

Here’s the link to Andre’s blog post which I hope will sell you on it (noting to buy it’s 100% free) because is so powerful if you try it.

Also there’s a video at the end of the post which I also recommend.

Anyway, here’s the link to Andre’s blog post…

All this introspection pointed me at affiliate marketing as my perfect business model.

But affiliate marketing is a broad topic with many varied forms. It’s a bit like saying I’ve decided to take up ‘sport’ without defining which one.

I needed to find clear strategy for implementing affiliate marketing in a way that would be true to my beliefs …my why…

My Why And 1st Goal Example…

My belief is that good affiliate marketing MUST help people evaluate products, and services in a way that’s free from hype and pressure …no strings attached.

I like the idea of learn, do, teach as a strategy for showcasing these products.

I preferred the concept of showing & sharing to teaching, because for me teaching is something I’m working towards … you have to earn the right to call yourself a teacher (I haven’t earned this yet).

But, I’ve never had clarity over the specific type of affiliate marketing to focus on…

I’d tried many online business models, most with modest success, but in all honesty I was like a kid in a sweetshop unable to decide what I wanted most…

Spinning my wheels.

Going nowhere.

Fast.

But when I identified that my business has to…

Be true to my beliefs.Be robust …evergreen.Be Fun, and fit my desired lifestyle.Be transformational in nature, I love learning projects.Be Legit no business models that attract the attention of the FTC or SEC (be very careful of MLM or Biz OP type stuff)Really help people. Don’t promote anything I wouldn’t recommend to my mum.Be able to prove it helps people through using, testing, tracking, and analytics to verify results.Be consistently PROFITABLE so that we can ditch the safety net of the day job!Be owned by me, not rely on any one company product or service (build robust business ASSETS)Allow much of the process to be automated.

I mentioned earlier that my first goal was $10,000 month in affiliate profits. A number straight from the top of my head. A number I know would easily cover the costs of what we want to do…

A nice number but this goal does nothing for me.

I now understand why. It doesn’t reflect my beliefs and values.

It has no pulling power for me.

I’ve had to change it to read as follows…

“I love to help people to build their own robust affiliate businesses because its easy, fun and fulfilling. I do it by showing people mine so that they can see it, touch it, interact with it and ask me questions about it, free from any hype or pressure …no strings attached.

I can prove this ‘business’  helps people through using testing, tracking, and analytics to verify its success by the 1st June 2019″.

I’ve removed any financial elements from this first goal as I want my focus to be on delivering helpful information in a repeatable way where I can verify its success through testing, tracking and analytics technology.

The 1st June is my deadline for resolving some of the tracking issues my way of implementing this information has caused.

Because with these tracking issues solved I’ll be able to identify both what content engages people but also its potential profitability.

Another way of stating my business goal would be to say that it must ‘help people profitably’…

Conclusion & Next Step…

OK. We’re about done with this 1st step.

It picks up pace from here.

I hope this helps, because this stuff is so important.

Next we’ll taking Tony Robbins advice to save time and improve chances of success by looking for a Mentor or coach that’s PROVEN to help people like us to achieve results…

A robust affiliate business that really helps people without hype or pressure.
