STEP 1: You have to get crystal clear about your 'WHY' for doing this because it has to be POWERFUL enough to pull you through all challenges that lay ahead.
Your why is tied to your core beliefs, your ideal's, your principals as a human being.
What you stand for and what you stand against.
This is primitive, but powerful stuff.
Get this step wrong and your like a deer in the headlights, paralysed, unsure of which way to jump.

STEP 2: Research and get yourself a MENTOR PROVEN to help people reach goals similar to yours. A mentor will give you the strategy and action plan required, provide inspiration and validation you're on track, AND will probably become a valuable source of affiliate income for you later down the road.

STEP 3: Build Yourself before promoting anything because this will ensure you to stand uniquely apart from all competition and enable you to work with big companies that don't work with 'ordinary' affiliates because of the poor user experience they're deemed to provide.

STEP 8: People Visitors ...Traffic. As affiliates our job is help people reach their goals -right?.
A cool way of doing this is to become the guide or pathfinder for people ...show them how they can do it, and how they can do it faster, better, for less cost by using (if appropriate) proven best of breed training, tools and services (linked to using your affiliate links).
The fuel for this powerful affiliate engine is people. You need people interested in your topic to see what you're offering them (no strings attached help).
When you have all the above set up correctly hitting your financial goal simply becomes a case of testing individual traffic sources for their PROFITABILITY through your information sequence or funnel.

8 Steps To A Robust Affiliate Business
Once Built I Call It 'SMART' Marketing...
I wanted to show a different perspective... the green elements are your affiliate 'engine' this is where all your building takes place.
The elements don't all have to be built in the same place on the same platform. For example a lot of smart marketers do their initial building of themselves and helping people via their YouTube Channel from there linking into a system for building their list of interested people.
The specific products and services and platforms used aren't that important, but it is important to build you, help, people and build a list. It's like if you have to get to get from a to b what matters is you getting there not if you walked, cycled, or drove your car.
I would highly recommend that where possible make sure you OWN what your building. Social media accounts can be shut down and platforms changed or closed, just be careful your business never relies on any one element that is outside of your control.
Your helpful content, and list of people interested in your topic are valuable business assets.
Look after them carefully.
